Dr. Janet Chollet is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, physician-scientist, and biotechnology co-founder whose career bridges clinical medicine and translational drug development. Based in Boston, she is Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Procyrn LLC, where she leads clinical and translational strategy for therapeutics addressing major unmet needs in women’s health.
Procyrn’s lead program, PC101, is being developed as a sustained-release interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA) therapy for preterm preeclampsia. In 2026, the program received funding through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center Women’s Health Initiative to advance formulation development and preclinical pharmacokinetic studies. The program is designed to provide sustained therapeutic exposure while preserving the ability to discontinue treatment when clinically appropriate—an important consideration in the management of preterm preeclampsia.
Dr. Chollet is also developing Procyrn’s cervical disease program, focused on a local, tissue-preserving therapeutic approach for women with persistent, residual, or recurrent high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL/CIN2/3) following cervical excisional treatment. The program is evaluating small-molecule candidates and local cervical delivery strategies with the long-term goal of reducing the need for repeat excisional procedures and the additional loss of cervical tissue associated with them.
Her approach to drug development is grounded in more than two decades of clinical obstetric practice. Over the course of her career, Dr. Chollet cared for women across the spectrum of obstetric and gynecologic disease and spent more than 25 years working in labor and delivery. That experience shaped her interest in translating clinical problems into practical therapeutic strategies, particularly for conditions in which treatment options remain limited.
Dr. Chollet earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her medical degree from New York Medical College. She completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at LAC/USC Women’s Hospital. Her clinical and scientific work has since centered on women’s health, maternal-fetal medicine, cervical disease, and the development of therapies designed around the realities of patient care.
Through Procyrn, Dr. Chollet continues to combine clinical insight with translational research, formulation strategy, preclinical development, and intellectual-property planning. Her work is focused on advancing a small number of therapeutics with clearly defined clinical applications and feasible paths toward development.
